A luminary is a guiding light, traditionally believed to help people find their way home.

At Luminary Recovery & Counseling Services, I believe in people’s innate ability to heal themselves. We are all born with innate intuition, however, sometimes life veers us off course, we get lost along the way, and we need someone to help guide us back home. I would be honored to be your guide and companion on your journey - as the (incredible, queer) artist Britchida says, it’s never too late to come home to yourself.

I am a white, chronically-ill/disabled, neurodivergent (AuDHD), agender, queer, (small) fat femme with a moderately privileged socioeconomic standing. I was born and reside in Washington. I bring the intersection of my privileged and marginalized identities into my work, cultivating humility and openness as I continue to seek out education and action in anti-racist and social justice spaces from those more systemically impacted than myself.

My work is also significantly informed by my experiences with addiction and eating disorders, and my own healing journey. I am a body liberation, anti-racist, immigration, and LGBTGEQIAP+ activist.

I have been a substance use disorder professional (SUDP) since 2014, and a licensed mental health counselor associate (LMHCA) since 2022 in the state of Washington.

I earned my BA in social sciences with a primary emphasis on psychology from Washington State University, a certificate in drug and alcohol counseling from Bellevue College and a master’s degree in addiction counseling: integrated recovery for co-occurring disorders from the Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School of Addiction Studies.

I have training in trauma-informed yoga, mindfulness based relapse prevention, Health at Every Size, body liberation, ADHD/autistic affirming care, and working with the LGBTGEQIAP+ population. I believe in expertise from lived experience, which I bring into my work through being an AuDHDer, in addiction and eating disorder recovery, disabled/chronically ill, agender, queer person.

I continue to seek out learning through traditional channels of continuing education as required for my licensure and informally through my involvement in activist spaces, being in diverse community and interpersonal relationships, community-based mutual aid, as well as informal education through reading and connection to others with different identities and experiences than my own.

I am committed to the continued and ongoing unlearning of white supremacy culture. I am committed to recognizing when I misstep, and am open to repair and accountability conversations and actions.

I do not provide therapy services or crisis services via text messaging. Texts are only monitored during business hours and I cannot guarantee a timely response for urgent matters (if urgent, crisis, or otherwise therapeutic in nature, please call 206-339-8377, do not text). Texts are not encrypted and are not HIPAA or 42 CFR Part 2 compliant for confidentiality.

Text messages do not establish a therapeutic relationship, until you are scheduled and your initial visit/intake is complete, you are not considered a client of Luminary Recovery & Counseling Services, LLC or of Lenni Shea, MA, SUDP, LMHCA.

Data Sharing

• We do not sell, transfer, or share consumer personal data with any external organizations under any circumstances, including with your consent, except as required by law. We maintain administrative, technical, and physical access controls to prevent unauthorized sharing or disclosing of user data

• Mobile opt-in and consent are never shared with anyone for any purpose. Any information sharing that may be mentioned elsewhere in this policy excludes mobile opt-in data.

Luminary Recovery & Counseling Services SMS Text Messaging Terms and Conditions (clinical terms and conditions are not included)

1. The messaging program consists of general conversational/support messaging and scheduling/reminder messaging.

2. You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text 'STOP' to the phone number from which you received messages. After you send the SMS message 'STOP' to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, just sign up as you did the first time and we will start sending SMS messages to you again.

3. If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program you can reply with the keyword HELP for more assistance, or you can get help directly at hello.luminary@proton.me or by calling 206-339-8377.

4. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

5. As always, message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. Message frequency will vary based on communication needs. If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider.

Luminary Recovery & Counseling Services provides telehealth counseling services to adults in Washington State, under the license of a substance use disorder professional and licensed mental health counselor associate.

Messages can be expected between 1 to 10 times per month, depending on ease of scheduling, which is the primary purpose of text messaging services. Texting is not to be used for anything clinical or anything that contains HIPAA- or 42 CFR Part 2- protected information.
